Metallica in DBN

What was truly one of the best days of live, Metallica ROCKED Durban to pieces.

I have waited my whole life to watch these masters shred and I was truly in heaven.

When my lifelong hero’s started to play, I grabbed my camera and headed for front row.

Years of sneaking into golden circle paid off and I easily hopped the fence and put on my best poker face.

I heard a security guy shout “hey you” but I just carried on walking and then sprinted into the crowd and moshed my way to the front.

The sound was fantastic and it was very hard to stay still long enough to snap some shots, but i knew that this was a once in a life time experience and I HAD to have some memories.

As soon as I had a few shots, I skedaddled back to my friend High, who was watching the rest of our stuff and we got down to some serious headbanging.

My buddy Haigh and I were like crazy animals, jumping up and down, singing and playing air-guitar.

James Hetfield, as usual, blew me away and to see him riffing, not even 10 metres from me was a life’s goal achieved.

After the last song and they said goodnight, the crowds all bolted for the door. BUT, I knew what was to come.

SEEK AND DESTROY … I have never seen a crowd go wild like that; and as I write I am feeling the goosebumps all over again.

Thanks to CokeFest and to Metallica for making so many dreams come true that day.

Now I just gotta see AC/DC —– whens the next CokeFest cos I am sending them a letter.

Thanks to 5FM for the tickets for me and my friends.
